CPDS is an independent institution. A core staff of academic, political and administrative specialists co-ordinate the contributions to its programmes of a large number of experts and practitioners from a wide variety of academic, professional and political institutions. These institutions include the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, London, Birmingham and Edinburgh, the British Parliament and Departments of Government, the three major British political parties and minor parties, the Parliament, Council, Commission and External Action Service of the European Union, NATO, the Council of Europe and the United Nations at Geneva and New York.
We are fortunate to have within the core group individuals who have reached the pinnacle of their own specialist fields. Their knowledge and experience continues to be relevant to participants in our programmes. They are able to draw on networks of contacts at a comparably senior level, both serving and recently retired, who add the weight of their practical experience to the courses we offer.
CPDS has established a sound track record of in-country project analysis, innovative programme design and meticulous organisation and conduct of study visits
